Gerome Warburton Outworks Heaney To Close In On World Title Dream
Photo Credit: Alex Livesey Colwyn Bay's Gerome Warburton marked his long-awaited return to the ring with an impressive win over the popular Nathan Heaney on Saturday night. 'The Bread Maker' defeated Heaney via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their clash at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester to claim the WBA Continental middleweight title. Heaney started the fight well but Warburton eventually took control in the middle rounds and ultimately proved himself to be the deserved winner on the night. The former Welsh middleweight champion is now expected to secure himself an official world ranking with the WBA which could generate a number of interesting opportunities for the 30-year-old.
