Barry Jones Names The Best Win Of Joe Calzaghe's Career

Barry Jones once revealed what he believes is the greatest win of Joe Calzaghe's exceptional professional career.

In the eyes of so many, Calzaghe stands tall as being the greatest British fighter to have ever laced up a pair of boxing gloves.

'The Pride of Wales' remained unbeaten for the entirety of his decorated 15-year career, defeating each of the 46 opponents that he crossed paths with along the way.

Calzaghe remains the longest-reigning super-middleweight champion of all time, making no less than 20 successful defences of his WBO world title over a ten year period.

He shared the ring with a number of outstanding fighters during his tenure, including the likes of Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins and the legendary Roy Jones Jr, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest fighters ever.

In an episode of the Boxing Social Podcast, former WBO super-featherweight champion Barry Jones didn't hesitate to reveal what he believes was his countryman's greatest ever victory.

"The Kessler win is his best win. I know people say Kessler wasn't right for the fight and maybe but tell me a fighter who's had a perfect camp and I'll show you a liar. That was the best Kessler you ever seen."

Calzaghe handed Kessler the first defeat of his professional career when they did battle for the unified WBC, WBA and WBO world super-middleweight titles at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on November 3rd, 2007.

The Welsh great was declared the winner via unanimous decision to finally become a unified world champion, a night that lives long in the memory of Welsh boxing fans.
