After demanding a big fight for the best part of 18-months, Tiryberth's Kyran Jones has finally got his wish.
The unbeaten 28-year-old, who is unbeaten in 14 professional contests, has slowly emerged as one of the brightest prospects on the domestic middleweight scene.
The Welsh star was pencilled in to challenge for the Celtic Middleweight title back in February of 2025 but his clash with Scotland's Paul Kean was cancelled after he sustained an unfortunate injury.
Jones made his long-awaited return to action back in April when he outclassed Liverpool's Connor Goulding over six rounds on the undercard of Lauren Price's world title defence at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff.
After he extended his unbeaten record with that win over Goulding, Jones staked his claim for a well-deserved title shot, something he has worked towards over the last year and a half.
In an announcement on Monday evening, Jones revealed that he is set to challenge Guildford's Joel Bartell for the vacant Commonwealth International Middleweight title next.
The domestic showdown, which is to be promoted by Misfits Pro, will take place at the Copperbox Arena in London on Saturday July 18.
Bartell, who has suffered just one defeat in 11 professional bouts, has already captured two domestic titles having held the Commonwealth Youth Middleweight title and the BBBoC Southern Area Middleweight crown.
Jones will be looking to cement his status as a serious contender at 160lbs and it all starts when he locks horns with Bartell next month in what could prove to be the toughest test of his career to date.
