Cardigan's Mikey O'Sullivan got his professional career up-and-running with an impressive points victory over the durable Jose Manuel Perez in Cardiff.

The 20-year-old made his professional debut on the undercard of Lauren Price's unified world welterweight title defence against Stephanie Pineiro at the Utilita Arena.

O'Sullivan boxed on the front foot from the opening bell and caused his Nicaraguan rival a number of problems throughout the course of their four round contest.

Despite being just 20-years-old, O'Sullivan did not appear to be fazed by the occasion as referee Reece Carter scored the bout 40-36 in favour of the Welsh debutant.

The highly-rated Welshman is expected to be back in action over the next couple of months as he looks to build on what was a positive start to his professional tenure.
