Penygraig's Rhys 'Lightning' Edwards has delivered an update on a potential British title rematch with domestic rival Gully Powar.
Edwards and Powar locked horns for the coveted British Featherweight title on the undercard of Lauren Price's world title defence against Stephanie Pineiro at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff back in April.
After an all-action 12-rounds in the Welsh capital, the fight was declared a majority decision draw with two out of the three judges at ringside failing to separate both men.
A rematch between the pair was called for by fans almost immediately and was later supported by the British Boxing Board of Control who ordered Edwards and Powar to do battle once again.
In a recent interview with Boxing Now, Edwards revealed that he is expected to be back in action by the end of August as he claims negotiations for his rematch with Powar are in the final stages.
"I'm waiting to find out on a date for definite, just waiting on their behalf really but I've heard I could be out end of August in Cardiff so whatever happens I think I'll be out end of August in Cardiff."
Edwards has already vowed to defeat his domestic rival when their cross paths for the second time as he looks to become the first Welshman since Lee Selby to capture the British Featherweight crown.
Full details on the high-stakes rematch between Edwards and Powar are expected to be revealed over the next few weeks.
