Tonypandy's Rhys Edwards is just two days away from challenging for the vacant British Featherweight title.

The 26-year-old is set to face Wolverhampton's Gully Powar for the highly-coveted Lord Lonsdale Belt at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on Saturday night.

The domestic bout acts as the chief support for Lauren Price's WBC, WBA and IBF World welterweight title defence against Puerto Rico's Stephanie Pineiro.

Edwards has just suffered one defeat during his professional career, a narrow unanimous decision loss to the highly-rated Peter McGrail back in December of 2024.

In footage shared by BOXXER, Edwards admitted that he is 'buzzing' to have finally secured his opportunity to become a British champion as he claims he will be 'all about business' when the first bell rings.

"I'm all about business Saturday, so he best not underestimate me in any way, shape or form. I'm just, I'm buzzing for it. I honestly can't wait, feels a lot more real now. We've been up close and personal but, I'm looking forward to it."

Edwards appears to have been focused throughout fight week as he looks to become the latest Welsh fighter to capture a version of the prestigious Lonsdale Belt in what promises to be a memorable night of boxing in the nations capital.
