Croft Twins Extend Unbeaten Records On Successful Matchroom Debut


The highly-rated Croft twins, Ioan and Garan, marked their respective ring returns with two impressive victories on Friday evening. 

The unbeaten Welsh pairing featured on the undercard of Pat Brown's title showdown with Czechia's Vasil Ducar at Planet Ice in Altrincham. 

Ioan opened the show with a classy display against Serbia's Novak Radulovic to extend his unbeaten record to 6-0 in what was his first 8-round contest. 

Referee Darren Sarginson scored the bout 80-72 in favour of Ioan who will now be keen on advancing towards the first title shot of his career. 

Garan was matched up with Dudley's Marco Simmonds who proved to be somewhat of a test for the 24-year-old Welshman. 

Croft put on a mature display over the Englishman in what was also his first 8-round bout as Darren Sarginson yet another scorecard of 80-72 in favour of the highly-rated Crymych-native. 

Both fighters are expected to be back in action over the next couple of months as they look to establish themselves on what is a flourishing domestic scene.

Rhys Edwards All Set For British Title Challenge

  Tonypandy's Rhys Edwards is just days away from challenging for the British Featherweight title on a stacked bill at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff.  The highly-rated 26-year-old will face Wolverhampton's Gully Powar for the vacant 126lb Lonsdale Belt on the undercard of Lauren Price's world title defence against Puerto Rico's Stephanie Pineiro.  Price is set to defend her unified WBC, WBA and IBF world welterweight titles as she looks to move a step closer to achieving undisputed status at 147lbs.  Edwards has had an impressive professional career to date, winning all but one of the 18 contests he has participated in since he made his debut back in November of 2018.  He suffered the only defeat of his tenure in December 2024 when he was narrowly outpointed by the highly-rated Peter McGrail at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  Victory on Saturday night would see Edwards become the latest Welshman to capture a version of the coveted Lord Lonsdale B...

Joshua John Closing In On Dream British Title Shot

  Photo Credit: Huw Fairclough/Getty Images Joshua John's dream of fighting for the coveted Lonsdale Belt is set to be made official in the coming weeks.  The 31-year-old from Port Talbot has been waiting patiently for his opportunity to box for the British bantamweight title ever since he defeated Logan Richardson in a final eliminator last June.  John outclassed Richardson over ten rounds at The Galleries in Bristol to earn his shot at the title, which is currently vacant.  The last fighter to hold the belt was Liverpool's Andrew Cain, who made just one defence of the title when he defeated world title challenger Charlie Edwards in his hometown back in March of 2025.  As revealed on the BBBofC's recent Championship Circular , John has been ordered to face Tilbury's Harvey Smith for the vacant British bantamweight strap next.  Smith is also the reigning Commonwealth Bantamweight champion, a title he has held since he defeated Glasgow's Lennon Mulligan back...
